Gardens by the Bay (滨海湾花园) consists of three distinct man-made waterfront gardens – Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central, set in the heart of Singapore’s new downtown Marina Bay, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir, is th latest icon in the CBD.  This superpark, spanning 101 hectares, houses over 220,000 plants from almost every continentand, in two greenhouses, is just a five-minute walk from the city. From the waterfront promenade, enjoy an amazing view of the Marina Bay financial district skyline. The grounds are perfect for an evening stroll and picnic with family and friends.

 

The Gardens are being developed in phases. Bay South was completed and opened to the public on 29 Jun 2012.    Bay East has been developed as an interim park in support of the Youth Olympic Games 2010, and is opened to the public since Nov 2011, allowing an alternate access to the Marina Barrage. The full master plan implementation of Bay East and the development of Bay Central are part of the next phase of development.

 

 

Opening hours and fees

The opening hours of the outdoor gardens at Bay South are from 5am to 2am, while the Conservatories and Aerial Walkway are open from 9am to 9pm daily. Gardens’ Admission Access to the outdoor gardens at Bay South is free, with key attractions like the Conservatories and Aerial Walkway being chargeable. The rates are as follows: Local resident* Adult Two Conservatories $20 One Conservatory $12 Aerial Walkway $5 Child (3-12 years old) Two Conservatories $12 One Conservatory $8 Aerial Walkway $3 *Singapore citizens, permanent residents and those living in Singapore, including holders of employment pass, work permit or dependents’ pass. Additional 10% discount on admission rates to the cooled conservatories for holders of PAssion Card, NTUC Plus! Card, SAFRA Card and Home Team NS Card (terms and conditions apply). How to get there?

Take MRT and alight at Marina Bay station, take bus no. 400, alights 4 stops later.
