Jailed for keeping mum on HIV status

A man infected with HIV was jailed for 18 months on Wednesday for having sex with another man without first revealing his HIV status. The former engineer, aged 27, had pleaded guilty to the January 2009 offence last month.

The accused could have been fined up to $50,000 and/or jailed for up to 10 years.
