Tammy sex video scandal

sex photos and videos in lost mobilephone incident

tammyThe most famous sex and the city incident in Singapore has to be the “Tammy sex video scandal”.

“Tammy”, then a 17 year old Nanyang Polytechnic student, became famous when she lost her Nokia cell phone in February 2006. But it wasn’t just any old cell phone – it was a mobile with sex videos and naughty pictures. After the thief of the phone uploaded the sex tape and photos onto the web, Tammy became an instant celebrity, searched worldwide online and turned into an Internet phenomenon. The video gained international notoriety as many people curiously began searching for it online under the keyword Tammy Nyp, causing the scandal to make it to the first five places in Technorati’s top search terms for almost two weeks.
